PT100 RTD Temperature Sensor
Model: PT100
The PT100 RTD is a resistance temperature detector with 100 Ω at 0°C per IEC 60751, offering superior stability and accuracy compared to thermocouples below 400°C. It covers -200 to +850°C and is the preferred sensor in pharma, food, and chemical processes requiring uncertainty below ±0.3°C. Available in 2-, 3-, and 4-wire configurations — 4-wire provides the highest accuracy by eliminating lead resistance error.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should a PT100 be calibrated?+
Pharma and food industries typically require calibration every 6–12 months, or whenever a noticeable offset is observed in the monitoring system. Certificates must state measured R0, R100, and alpha values.
How much more accurate is a PT100 vs Type K?+
At 100°C, PT100 Class A uncertainty is ±0.35°C vs ±1.5°C for Type K Class 1 — roughly 4× better, making PT100 the right choice for low-uncertainty applications.
Should I use 2-wire, 3-wire, or 4-wire configuration?+
4-wire is most accurate as excitation and sense use separate circuits. 3-wire is adequate for most industrial applications. 2-wire is only appropriate for very short lead lengths where resistance error is negligible.
