Testo 480 with Sound Level Probe 0635 1540
Model: 480 + 0635 1540
The Testo 480 with Sound Level Probe 0635 1540 measures sound levels from 40–130 dB(A) with IEC 61672 Class 2 compliance. Supports Leq, Lmin, Lmax, and peak measurement for occupational noise assessments per Thai DOLE safety regulations. The modular design allows the same Testo 480 base unit to be reused with IAQ, thermal comfort, and flow probes. Calibration requires a Class 1 pistonphone calibrator traceable to NIMT.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should a sound level meter be calibrated?+
At least annually per Thai DOLE regulations. Field check with a sound calibrator before and after each measurement session is also required.
What is the difference between Class 1 and Class 2?+
IEC 61672 Class 1 has ±0.7 dB accuracy and is used for research and reference calibration. Class 2 (±1.5 dB) is sufficient for Thai legal workplace noise surveys.
What is Leq and why is it important?+
Leq is the energy-equivalent continuous sound level over a measurement period — the standard metric for assessing cumulative noise exposure. Thai law limits worker exposure to 90 dB(A) Leq over 8 hours.
