Mitutoyohardness tester

Mitutoyo HR-200 Rockwell Hardness Tester

Model: HR-200

The Mitutoyo HR-200 Rockwell hardness tester supports HRA, HRB, HRC, HRD, HRE, HRF, HRG, HRH, and HRK scales. It provides direct digital HRC readout with ±1 HRC accuracy and a 20–100 HRC measuring range. Widely used in Thai steel, heat treatment, and automotive parts manufacturing to verify hardness against material specifications. Calibration uses ISO 6508-certified hardness reference blocks traceable to NIMT.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should a Rockwell hardness tester be calibrated?+

Per ISO 6508, verify with a reference block before each day's use. Formal calibration of the indenter and load cell is required every 12 months.

What is the difference between HRC and HRB?+

HRC uses a diamond Brale indenter with 150 kgf load for hard materials like hardened steel. HRB uses a 1/16" ball indenter with 100 kgf for softer materials like aluminum and brass.

What minimum specimen thickness is needed for accurate results?+

For HRC, specimen thickness must be at least 10× the indentation depth (approximately 0.5 mm minimum). The test surface must be smooth, flat, and parallel to the support surface.
